The Brothers and Reprise Records (the Warner division now handling release of the Brothers' CD's) announced August 30 that a new six-disc compilation, The Studio Albums 1967-1968, will be released on November 7, 2006!  Each studio album in the set---Bee Gees First, Horizontal, and Idea---has been completely remastered, and, at last, each CD will be paired with a second disc of rare and unreleased tracks!  Here is what you can look forward to:

Bee Gees First:  The bonus disc accompanying First will contain 14 previously unreleased tracks, and will include alternate album versions, plus songs which didn't make the album, including "Gilbert Green," "House of Lords," "I've Got To Learn," "All Around My Clock" and "Mr. Wallor's Wailing Wall."

Horizontal:  The bonus disc accompanying Horizontal will contain 13 tracks; 4 will be non-album tracks, such as "Words", while the other nine will be unreleased songs such as "Out Of Line," "Ring My Bell," "Deeply, Deeply Me" and "Mrs. Gillespie's Refrigerator."

Idea:  Idea's bonus disc includes several alternate mixes of album songs, plus the unreleased "Bridges Crossing Rivers".  It also includes two songs written for films, "Chocolate Symphony" and "Gena's Theme"!

The Studio Albums 1967-1968 gathers all three of the group's pop-psych classics in a slipcase, with each double-disc in its own gatefold digipak. Along with many beautiful photos from the era, the accompanying booklets feature liner notes including extensive new interviews with Barry and Robin on their career and music.
